SMS Program & Opt-In Disclosure
GateCheck is a mobile app (iOS and Android) by Jexis Enterprises, LLC that crowdsources airport security wait times and helps travel groups coordinate on travel day. This page documents every way an end user consents to receive SMS from GateCheck, exactly as it appears in the application, for carrier and campaign review.
Message types
GateCheck sends account notifications and travel alerts only — never marketing or promotional content:
- Phone verification one-time passcodes (Twilio Verify)
- Group invitations ("you've been added to a travel group")
- "Time to leave for the airport" reminders
- Group member "through security" status updates
Message frequency varies with the user's travel activity — typically 2–10 messages around a single travel day, zero otherwise. Msg & data rates may apply.
Opt-in path 1 — user verifies their own number (in-app)
In Settings → Text alerts, the user enters their phone number and must actively tick an unchecked-by-default consent checkbox before the "Send verification code" button enables. They then confirm a one-time passcode sent to that number (double opt-in). The screen below is a rendered replica of the production screen.
Text alerts (optional)
Get key alerts by SMS — like "time to leave for the airport" and group "through security" updates.
See our Privacy Policy and Terms. Your number is never shared with third parties for marketing.
Checkbox is unchecked by default; the button stays disabled until the user actively consents.
Text alerts (optional)

After active consent, the user receives and confirms a one-time passcode — completing double opt-in.
Opt-in path 2 — group organizer adds a text-only member
A group organizer may add a travel companion by phone number so that person can follow the group by SMS without installing the app. The organizer must actively tick an unchecked-by-default attestation that the recipient gave permission. The recipient's first message always includes program identification and opt-out instructions, and any STOP reply is honored permanently across the program.
Add a text-only member
They'll get group travel alerts by SMS — no app needed. Their first text includes opt-out instructions, and they can reply STOP anytime. Msg & data rates may apply.
Attestation is unchecked by default; the button stays disabled until ticked.

Mobile information is never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties.
The GateCheck mobile app is currently in pre-release (TestFlight / Play internal track), which is why the opt-in screens are documented here as rendered replicas rather than a public sign-up URL. The flows shown match the production application exactly.
